Gingerbread Party 2013

We had a great time hosting our annual Gingerbread party! It was so fun to be able to have some new friends over to our house and just relax and have some good old fashion Christmas fun. Y'all know I love to host a good themed party... I really tried to tone it down a bit as to not scare my new friends off  ;) I was pretty happy with how it turned out and I think its safe to say they would come back again..;) At least I think they would...ha! :)
Seriously though, I so enjoyed having friends gathered in the kitchen visiting. It does my heart so much good to make new friends in a new place. I always feel like the Lord places us right where we need to be during these moves and discover reasons why we are here is a good feeling. It also brings me such joy to see the girls laughing and playing with friends. Such a sweet sound a makes my heart so joyful!
Of course I can't go without saying I miss and love you to all my hometown friends that would have been here yesterday if it wasn't for our distance issue ;) And of course a huge heartfelt shout out to my girlfriend Erin...I will always be so thankful that you befriended a homesick Kansas girl and welcomed me into your big Texas heart! I always think of you and our Texas Gingerbread house fiascos when we dive into this each year! Love you and miss you! xoxo

Luke 1:35

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Ho Ho Ho...off to see Santa we go!!!
And 3 hours later we saw him!! Whoo hooo! Was this the year Whitney finally sat on his lap??? Drum roll please....NO! But she tried and there was no screaming meltdown...I would say that is some major progress! Afterwards she said, " I really tried mom, I really did. But no matter what I do I just really don't like adults in costumes" Well said Whit...well said. I do feel that adults in costumes can be a bit disturbing ;) Anyway...we actually had lots of fun waiting...these crazy kids keep us on our toes! :) I love these memories...I am so glad I have lots and lots of pics of my crazy crew to treasure for always! :)

The girls are going to Catholic school here in Canada. There are so many things I am LOVING about it! The fact that they have prayer in school and learn stories from the bible. It is wonderful! I love that the school that they are at there is lots of cultural diversity. It is so great for our girls to experience something so different than what they are used to . The school put on a Christmas concert. It was seriously one of the sweetest little performances. I loved watching them so much. I also loved that my mom was in town for it! Total bonus! :) She loved watching them as much as I did! Thank you Don Bosco staff for loving on our girls. Thank you for growing our hearts for Canada and all the countries your school represents. We are loving our time as part of your community and will carry these memories with us for always!! xoxo

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
