God Is Good

I love Saturdays! Waking up and just playing with the girls and enjoying all four of us being home together, doing whatever sounds good that morning! It is always so enjoyable, even when we just all lay in bed and read books and just act silly! We had a great week this week! The girls and I were busy with school, bible study, meeting friends for lunch, going to the jumping place, swimming, and just hanging out together doing crafts! Scott had an eventful week that included a bomb threat at work! He got a day off and thankfully it ended up being nothing but a threat! Yikes! That was scary! The girls and I went and bought things for the Good Samaritan Drive that was being held to stock up the shelters for all the thousands of people being housed here in SA...it was a great time and we had fun picking things out especially for children...Mal wanted to give all of her things to the kids who lost their houses but in the end I convinced her that was very thoughtful but we would just pick out some things on the list :) It was a great teaching moment and it is always great to do unto others! :) Mal had her first day of dance class this morning... there were 10 little girls in the class... SO CUTE.... She had a great time! There is a picture included with this post :) You can also see wild woman Whit Grace with her 2 favorite things...a purse and tooth brush :) I also thought Aunt Amy would enjoy the dress Whit is wearing.... the third picture if of our silly girls jumping on daddy! Love and Prayers to you all!

Lazy Saturday Morning

Hello from Texas!

We were not effected by the hurricane at all! Actually it is sunny here! Unfortunately our Houston neighbors did not fair so well...they will be in our prayers!
We had a great week here! The girls and I had a lot of fun going swimming, and to the park...Mal had school and Whit and I had a nice time together just the two of us. Scott is doing well, still only working four days a week which is nice for our family to have so much time together. Yesterday I went to lunch with some new friends from Church/MOPS it is nice to connect with some other moms.
We spent yesterday afternoon trying to get Texas drivers licenses which is a total nightmare...after going to the social security office and the drivers license bureau...TWICE... we still do not have a drivers license...they really do think they are their own country and it gives me another reason that KANSAS IS AWESOME! :) But we tried to just laugh it off and we will try again next week!
This morning we have been having a fabulous lazy Saturday and we did discover something great about Texas...amazing homemade breakfast tacos for 99 cents! :)
The girls have been enjoying doing arts and crafts all morning...a few sweet pictures above :)
Love to you all!

Cheese Chili

September 8, 2008

Happy 50th Birthday Dad! :) Happy 28th Birthday Katie :) I hope you both had a wonderful day and I wish I was there to celebrate with you!

Mallory cracked us up at dinner tonight, we were having chili and she said, "I don't like beans in my chili, I don't like meat in my chili either. Maybe, tomorrow I can help you make a new kind of chili, mommy! CHEESE CHILI!" The things she thinks of :) Scott and I both cracked up :)

This afternoon Whit, Mal and I were choosing a movie so we could lay down together for a few minutes, this is my attempt and getting Mal to take an afternoon rest! Well, Whit picked the movie out so Mal wanted to put it in the player, Whit did not like that idea and they started pulling on the movie. I was reaching to take the movie from them both and Whitney went in to give Mal a BITE! I said, Whit no biting and picked her up! Mal yells out, "Whitney almost BUSTED me! Good thing mommy stopped you!" I had to bite my tongue to not laugh out loud... busted? Turns out Aunt Steph taught her "busted" Mal said they say that when they play a game together.... :) Nice one Steph :) ha! ha!

Mal had another great day at school and Whit and I had a great time just the two of us. It is nice to have a chance for some one on one time with Whitney. She is so much fun :) Tomorrow morning I am starting a bible study at the church we have been visiting. I am excited to get to know some more women! The girls love their classrooms too! They have an awesome new childrens ministry wing! Last week at MOPS Mal found a lizard on the playground, she is still talking about that! Whit is getting better about going in and playing...she still gets upset for a few minutes...but I of course hide outside the door and wait for her to calm down and on Sunday it was over in under one minute. I think it is more a show for me than anything! She is always playing happily when I come to pick her up!

Love to you all!

Are you ready for some football?

September 7, 2008

We just got home from a wonderful morning at church. I am really starting to meet some people and fill connected! We went to dinner last night at a families house that is also new to the area and we had a great time! It was so nice to make some new friends! Mallory has her 3rd day of school tomorrow! She still loves it! Friday was spirit day and she was really excited to get to wear her Coker Day school shirt! Scott is of course very excited for the Chiefs game today and just left to go meet a friend from KC who he works with at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch it together.... he is bummed that I wouldn't let him pay $300 for NFL ticket so he could watch it at home! Imagine that :) He was calling around last night to see who had the game on.... he found it a BWW on a small TV with no sound! Poor baby! :) Ha! Ha! He was however very happy to dress the girl in the chiefs cheerleader dresses for church this morning :) All is well in Texas and we miss you all so much!

Big Girl!

September 4, 2008

Whitney Grace is growing so fast! She will be 19 months on the 9th and she is running around and talking like a wild woman. She loves to do everything that Mal does... most of the time... and sometimes she just gets tired of her big sis and they get into little "tiffs" with each other. The worst was for sure when Whit bit Mal's cheek in the middle of wal-mart! Yikes!
Whit just amazes me everyday. I am just so in love with her and watching her personality develop. She cracks me up when she dances around shaking her little biscuit and twirls all around the room. I love how she runs into the kitchen with her little baby belly hanging out saying "Snack, mama!" I love how when she drops something she say "UH-OH Spaghetti-O'S" (courtesy of Uncle Bench!) I love her little kisses and her big hugs. I really love how she holds her own with Mal...she doesn't let Mal get her way to often! :) She is so much fun and just makes me smile and I often times find myself overwhelmed with love for her! It will continue to be a an adventure every day and I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring......
Whit today having an afternoon snack....she wanted to be big and sit with Mal! :)
