Beautiful Day!

We enjoyed playing outside today in the gorgeous 75 degree weather! :-) We went to the park and then out on a walk...Mal was practicing "controlling" her Dora bike! Scott was having a good time telling Mal that she drives like her mom :) Very funny! :) We had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to having another day all home together tomorrow! :) Love to all!

My little finger painters

The girls were busy this morning doing all kinds of arts and crafts! You can see them finger painting and then Mallory is working really hard cutting out a heart! She is doing so well with cutting! Now I just have to keep the scissors up high so we make sure only craft paper gets cut! :)

Our Kansas House

We received notice from our current renters yesterday that they are going to be moving out at the end of their lease March 1. So, Scott and I are now trying to find new renters to take over...it throws a twist in things trying to do it from Texas. I am going to be home for 2 weeks in March so I am going to get the house ready and show any interested renters during that time. I am just praying for an easy transition and for really good tenants to take over. Pass on our name if you know anyone that would be interested :) Love to you all! Miss you so much!

Princess Party

On Saturday Mallory and Whitney had a birthday party for their friend Peyton. It was so cute and they had a lot of fun. There were about 25 kids running around dressed as Princesses and Knights having their make-up done and doing a treasure hunt. It was a really cute place and a great time! Happy Birthday Peyton!

Beautiful January Day

It was 70 degrees outside today! As much as I love winter and miss the snow I must admit I did LOVE playing at the park with the girls and feeling that sunshine on my face! I have only experienced this kind of weather in January on a vacation :) We had a great time playing and I had to persuade them home after 2 hours so they could play in the back yard while I made dinner! I am very thankful for today....as I sat there laughing and watching the kids I just had an overwhelming feeling of complete happiness. There is something about children that will do that to you! :) Love you and Miss you!

Little Painters

The girls were hard at work earlier today painting some winter dogs and cats...they LOVE to paint...Mallory is very careful and slow and wants hers to be just the way she imagines and Whit loves to put on a lot of every color....today she favored red. We love you and Miss you!

Too Sweet!

My friend Amy came by tonight to bring me some "baby proofing" items to keep my wild woman Whit from dragging everything out of the fridge and pantry. She knew that I had been feeling really down and missing my family terribly... When she arrived she had also brought me flowers and chocolates to cheer me up! HOW SWEET! I was so touched. It is so nice to know even though I am far away and feeling a little down that I have found a good friend that cares here! It was such a reminder to be thankful for everything and sometimes it just takes one little angel to remind you that God really is with you every step of the way.

Enjoying our Gifts!

I am SO excited to have my new Kitchen Aid Mixer out of the box and in my kitchen!!! It looks so good! Scott is making brownies from scratch at this very moment :)I have really been envious of my mom and sisters and now I can use my very own anytime I want too! :)Thank you mom!!! We area also enjoying all of our other wonderful gift as you can see Scott wore this cute jacket to work today...thank you Amy :) WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Whitney and Rudy

I almost forgot to post these adorable pics of Whitney hand feeding Rudy his dog food. Rudy and Whit are the best of friends and have been since she was tiny in her baby seat. Her latest thing to do (aside from giving him the first bite of all her food) is to carry his dog food bowl to him wherever he is and start hand feeding him his food. Hilarious! We love you little Rudy Pup!

Back In Texas

We are back in Texas after an AMAZING two weeks at home. We had so much fun with everyone. I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed our stay. I had a very hard time leaving my family and I miss them all so much already. I know that I am so blessed that I love my family so much and enjoy all our time together but the pain of their absence in my daily life is so hard. Please be praying for me as I adjust to daily life here again.
I did want to share what welcomed me back as I picked Mallory up from preschool yesterday.....outside in the tree line a pack of DISGUSTING SCARY VULTURES!!!!! I almost threw up....I have never seen vultures at home....Texas is not cool!!!!

Game Night

We had a great game night over at Amy and Adam's on our last night in town. We had a great time with The Barr Family and Mike Bench...the pictures aren't really of game playing they are just cute poses that I wanted to make sure I had before we left. We had a Fiesta theme and ate some delicious Mexican food :) The girls did pretty well but then at the end it was melt down time! :) Thanks for hosting Amy and Adam we love you guys!

John's Space Aged Donut

The girls love going to John's Space Aged Donut in Overland Park with my dad. He took Mallory there one time and she loved the "spinney chairs" my parents tried to take them one morning and they were closed but on our last morning in town we all made it to the donut shop! It is a cute little shop and the girls had a great time....Papi is not in the pictures because as Mal said, "Papi is talking to his friend" my dad loves to chat with people and there was someone sitting next to him so.... We love you Papi and Mimi!

The People's Eyebrow

Uncle Mike Bench is the girls best buddy....he is also known for his likeness to "The Rock" for his people's eyebrow move :) He was doing this for a picture and Mal noticed and said, "I can make that crazy face too! " We were cracking up as Mal kept attempting to look like Uncle Bench :) Too funny! He also enjoyed a lot of tea that was served to him by his two favorite little ladies! We love you Mikey!!!

Power Outage

One night at my parents the power went "crazy" at first we thought the furnace was out but then we started noticing some of the lights were only coming on dimly and the blow dryer didn't work...slowly throughout the day one hallway went totally out of power but some of the rooms did work....WEIRD.... it was too cold for the girls to stay in the house so we went and stayed at Amy and Amy's!!! It was a wonderful cozy slumber party :) Thank you Amy and Adam! We love you! (mom and dad's power was back in the middle of that night....we were only getting 1/2 power because of a lose cord)
